Book and Activity Ideas for Children

This is a great way to solve the never ending question... "what are we doing today?"

Step #1- pick a children's book, one you think your child would like
Step #2- pre-read the book
Step #3- is there a message in the book you'd like to emphasize? is there something in the book that stands out?
Step #4- find a craft or activity that goes along with the book (make sure it's age appropriate for your children)
Step #5(opt)- think of a treat that would work with the book, craft, or activity
Step #6- bring the book, your ideas, and your favorite chocolate to share with some of the other sisters on July 15th @ 7pm in the church (Relief Society room).

For those who are lost... here is an Example:

Activity: Let your little one's dress up like they are going to a dance (my little girl picked her tutu and tap shoes, my little boy put on his church tie and cowboy boots). Let them listen to different kinds of music (classic, country, r&r, oldies, jazz, fast and slow) and dance with them. Nothing is funnier to my kids than to watch their mom TRY to keep the beat.

Snack: Rice Crispy Treats (cause they snap, crackle, and pop), music shaped sugar cookies, or mini-make-it-yourself-pizzas (cause everyone is different just like the pizza toppings we like).

Don't over think this. Any children's book that your kids likes will work. If all else fails there are lots of ideas on the web.
